Hello everyone!!!

Have you read the latest news on this site dated October 6th 2010??? Did I miss the summer or just forgot!!!!

I feel the same and I have to write everything so I remember what I have to do. I also replace words by other words in a sentence. I also describe people physically because I do not remember their names. My husband and I have very funny conversations...Must be MS

Hi there and good morning - Mom of Two - you hit it right on the nail.....foggy head feeling, cloudy feeling......when u get really tired and too warm....I use to go day after day with this feeling, along with other symptoms, and then learned that when I do get these symptoms, it is either one or two things - too tired, too warm...

When u get too tired - your fatigue increases, and well, its a vicious circle.  I have learned now to listen to what my body is telling me, and when I start to feel not so good, it is either Im too tired, too hot, or both.....so I get out of the heat, take a nap, and I do feel much better afterwards

As I mentioned, I use to go days with this feeling, but since I started doing just that -nap- it really did the trick.....

Gary

Yikes. My short term memory is brutal lately. I will go upstairs to do something, but by the time I get up there I'm standing there trying to remember why I went up to begin with. Then I have to retrace my steps and try to remember. And it's always just little stuff that I forget...like going into the pantry to see if we have tuna in there...I'm standing there staring blankly at all the food trying to remember what the heck made me go look in the pantry in the first place. Or I'll be speaking or typing and I'll forget what I am talking about in mid-sentence. And I have a hard time explaining things to other people, like really simple things. Like I can't think of the words. It's so weird. It's either getting worse or I am just more aware of it now. It's not a major deal to me right now, just really super annoying.

I get so super embarassed when I can't think of the words to give directions to someone--stuff like that. I, too, get distracted easily. My husband notices and he's quite tolerant of it, thank goodness because it annoys the heck out of me lol. My kids are young and busy and don't really notice, or if they do, they don't let on that they know. I notice it gets worse when I am really tired or it's really hot out--that foggy cloudy feeling. And it's supposed to be really hot tomorrow so I guess I'll be staying in the basement lol. I've been trying to teach myself to meditate. I'm hoping that will help with a lot of things, but it's so hard to clear my mind....half the time I'm trying to remember what I forgot and the other half I'm trying to forget what I can remember. So I think that will be a long process. And it's also tough to slow down enough to try to meditate because I try to keep my mind busy all day so it won't stray to the worries that I have about the most ridiculous stuff. Maybe when I figure out how to clear my mind, I will be able to remember stuff. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Thank you for your reply! Although I'm sorry you have the same stuff going on, I'm comforted to know that it's not just me. Oh, and I'm 31 if that makes you feel better about it being MS and not something else.

Hi mom_of_two:

I just had to reply to you regarding short term memory. I, myself, have a great long term memory but these last couple years my short term memory is the pitts. I feel for you because I go through the same thing everyday it seems. Between my husband and my two girls they have noticed my problem as well. I am told something, details or whatever, and I no sooner forget what I was supposed to do. It gets kind of embarassing at times and then I think it's got to be ms or at least I hope so. I just turned 50 so I hope it's not something else. I do believe the MS has definitely affected my thinking. I get distracted easily and at times my head feels like it's in a cloud, very foggy at times.

I also at times find it hard in e xplaining details to people as well. It gets very frustrating for me. I feel MS has taken some of my confidence from me in certain situations.

Take care, Annette.
