I love the analogy here - the bank account - that is excellent and sooooo true....u are right u need to pace yourself - and I do nap when ever I feel drained or otherwise - I never feel guilty in having a nap - beside I am a man, and what man do you know that does not like to nap - now I have an excuse to do so - yeahhhh!!!

Yes we do tend to overdue it when we are feeling good, cause we are never sure what tomorrow is going to bring.  Make hay when the sunshines - I guess.  But yes, the next day, sometimes we pay and other days we dont.....I know if I stay up late to watch a movie, or whatever, the next day I am just dragged out, even if I get a solid 8 hours sleep....

You know, we hear about how we need to pace ourselves, but it's not until we actually go overboard and feel the wrath of overdoing stuff, that we realize that we really DO need to pace ourselves. My occupational therapist explained it like this: You get so much energy allotted to you every day like a bank account. You can use this energy however you wish, but you can not go into the overdraft because you will be withdrawing from tomorrow's account. I think it's similar to the "spoons" story that I read somewhere online about lupus I think it was. It makes sense though, because either we overdo it one day and pay for it for the next three days, or we pace ourselves and carry out our projects over the three days and not feel like total crap because of it. I have learned that the hard way on more than one occassion because sometimes I feel like I'm lazy or something, ya know? So I push myself. But then I pay for it. So now, I TRY to slow down whenever I remember. The worst part is when I feel good, I go overboard. It's like I don't want to remember that I have MS or something. I get my injection over with in the morning so I can go about my day without thinking about it. Now I seem to be getting off topic lol. I really hope you feel better soon.
